THE SEASON IN REVIEW

Another chapter in the story.

The PX2 was launched at pre-season testing in Estoril, Portugal. In a very low-key unveiling, the PX2 was wheeled out of the team’s garage in the pits as a few passers-by watched on. With the new car being ready just in time for testing, many expected their second season to be a tough one for Phoenix - now known as DS Phoenix after DS Automobiles purchased a stake in the team. This looked to be the case early on in the season after a best finish of 15th from the opening three rounds, before a magnificent double points finish in Malaysia took the team to 8 points and established midfield runners – one year on from the heartbreak at the same circuit in 2018. DS Phoenix went from strength to strength after this; eleven further points finishes – including three more double points finishes – saw the team end the year on 49 points, taking 7th place in the Constructors’ Championship for the second year running.
